Mexican poet and educator Jaime Torres Bodet believes that a writer may also be a man of action. Because of his devotion to literary affairs and his skill as an administrator, in 1948 he was selected as Director-General of UNESCO. In 1958, he was appointed Minister of Education in Mexico.
