This exhibition, by bringing together forty masterpieces, was intended to celebrate the 'trilateral affiliation' between the State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation in New York, and the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna.
