Most people have heard of the famous writer William Shakespeare. He lived in England from 1564-1616. In the early 1590's Shakespeare was just beginning to write. Another writer, Christopher Marlowe, was much better known. The two authors were almost the same age. But while Shakespeare was still learning the playwright's craft, Marlowe was busy writing masterpieces. In later years, if things had worked out differently, Christopher Marlowe might have given Shakespeare serious competition. But one May ngiht in 1593, trouble arose in Deptford, a small English town.
