Now Kay Boyle has taken the memoir McAlmon published in 1938, revised it, written alternating chapters to it, correcting, sometimes enlarging McAlmon´s candid portraits of the important artistic figures of the day, and adding her own fascinating comments on a never-to-be equalled decade of creativity. The result is a marvelously evocative dialogue between two friends, a haunting counterpoint to a fabulous era, that illuminates this almost legendary time and place in a thoroughly original way.
