The British Museum's collection of textiles is exploited here for the beautifully photographed examples (with many details of each) of Guatemalan textiles from the southwest highland region. Hecht (a specialist in Guatemalan textiles who teaches adult education courses in textiles in the UK) provides an introduction describing the different kinds of costumes, their materials, and weaving techniques. A bibliography, glossary, and index are included.
