He was born in Juchitán, Oaxaca on March 27, 1959. A civil engineer by profession, he worked as a surveyor. He studied at the Graphic Workshop of the House of Culture of the Isthmus, in Juchitán from 1980 to 1983, the year in which he entered the School of Plastic Arts, Painting and Engraving of the INBA in Oaxaca. From 1984 to 1985 he studied at the National School of Painting, Sculpture and Engraving La Esmeralda in Mexico City. From 1989 to 1990 he led ceramics studies at the Casa de Cultura del Istmo in Juchitán. In 1989 he won the First Prize for Acquisition at the IX National Meeting of Young Art in Aguascalientes. He was the first Mexican to receive the Gran Paleta de Oro Award at the XXVI International Painting Festival of the Grimaldi Castle-Museum in Cagnes-Sur Mer, France in 1994. France in 1994. He worked as a blacksmith, was a poet, novelist, editor, singer of sones and boleros. In 1989 he published the book of poetry "Siempre en llamas" and in 1995 the short novel "Zeferino y su hermana Mariana Pombo". He created the Guiée Xhúuba Foundation dedicated to promoting the culture of the region. He died on March 21, 1997 in Mexico City. Nació en Juchitán, Oaxaca el 27 de marzo de 1959. Ingeniero civil de profesión, se desempeñó como topógrafo. Estudió en el Taller de Gráfica de la Casa de Cultura del Istmo, en Juchitán de 1980 a 1983, año en que ingresó a la Escuela de Artes Plásticas, Pintura y Grabado del INBA en Oaxaca. De 1984 a 1985 estudió en la Escuela Nacional de Pintura, Escultura y Grabado La Esmeralda en la Ciudad de México. De 1989 a 1990 llevó estudios de cerámica en la Casa de Cultura del Istmo en Juchitán. En 1989 obtuvo el Primer Premio de Adquisición en el IX Encuentro Nacional de Arte Joven en Aguascalientes. Fue el primer mexicano en recibir el Galardón Gran Paleta de Oro en el XXVI Festival Internacional de Pintura del Castillo-Museo Grimaldi en Cagnes-Sur Mer, Francia en 1994. Ejerció la herrería, fue poeta, novelista, editor, cantador de sones y boleros. En 1989 publicó el libro de poesía "Siempre en llamas" y en 1995 la novela corta "Zeferino y su hermana Mariana Pombo". Creó la Fundación Guiée Xhúuba dedicada a promover la cultura de la región. Murió el 21 de marzo de 1997 en la ciudad de México.
